FormShrink: perfect shrink packaging


The FormShrink packaging process uses special high-shrink thermoforming films that shrink when passed through our shrink tunnels. This results in an attractive package with a second skin appearance around the unique contours of your product. This minimizes excess packaging and the "dog ears" often associated with shrink bag packaging.   

Multivac has developed a comprehensive line of thermoform machinery specifically for the FormShrink process.

The highly efficient FormShrink process can be used for all food products which are suitable for shrink packaging, including

  • The trays formed on the FormShrink thermoformer are filled manually or automatically.
  • After being evacuated, the packs are sealed automatically. MULTIVAC technology ensures an exceptionally high sealing seam strength.
  • A contoured cut removes excess film automatically. An easy-open tab can be formed if required.
  • The remaining film is then shrunk to fit in a downstream shrink tank, creating a securely sealed pack. The shrink film surrounds the entire product like a second skin.
